THE CHALLENGE

The Lincoln Conservation District provides a wide range of conservation resources and services across Lincoln County, Montana—from 310 stream permits and landowner assistance to restoration projects, educational programs, pollinator initiatives, and community resources. The challenge was to make this broad range of information easier for landowners, residents, and community partners to navigate. Important resources such as permit requirements, application forms, project information, programs, meeting details, and contact information needed to be accessible without requiring visitors to search through dense or disconnected content.

WHAT CHANGED

The redesigned website creates a clearer path to the information people need most. Core services are separated into intuitive sections, while permitting information, applications, community programs, conservation projects, and educational resources receive clearer pathways throughout the experience. The new structure balances public-service information with a more approachable visual experience, helping visitors understand what the District does, determine which service or resource applies to them, and take the appropriate next step.

We redesigned the Lincoln Conservation District website around the people who rely on it—landowners, residents, community members, and partner organizations. The new experience organizes complex conservation information into clearer service pathways while making essential resources easier to discover. Visitors can learn about 310 permits, understand the application process, explore landowner assistance, discover community programs, and learn about restoration and conservation initiatives from a more structured digital environment.
